Dear Colleague
Ethco Conference 26 March 2010 – Jordanhill Campus, University of Strathclyde
The Ethco project, supported by DFID, is designed to embed global issues into the curriculum, by linking them to enterprise, financial education and citizenship and education for sustainable development. It uses enterprising approaches to empower staff and pupils by raising awareness of the role of the individual in society and the actions he/she can take to help combat world poverty. The Ethco materials support an interdisciplinary approach to learning and are carefully matched to Curriculum for Excellence outcomes. The activities are designed to build knowledge, skills and attitudes for active, campaigning citizens and to increase awareness of ethical issues in business.
This event is designed to support those schools who are already participating as they take Ethco forward, and also to encourage others to become involved by highlighting the benefits for all. The event is funded by DFiD and so is free for a limited number of delegates to attend. In cases where there is difficulty in funding travel, a contribution may be made to reasonable travel expenses.
I would like to invite you to attend the event and attach a flyer with application form. Please submit your application as soon as possible and certainly by 12th March at the latest. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
I look forward to meeting you on 26th March.
Best wishes
Linda
