18. The MDGs and Maternal Health
The content of this task can be adapted to suit any Curriculum for Excellence Level.
“Maternal health” is an important issue for us all. One of the Millennium Development Goals is to improve maternal health for all. Pupils will discover what “maternal health” is, why the UN felt it necessary to create an MDG specifically devoted to maternal health, and why improving maternal health is important for us all, in this country as well as in developing countries. Representation of the results using graphics and/or pictorial presentations, or animations, should be encouraged.
