20. The MDGs and Global Partnership
The content of this task can be adapted to suit any Curriculum for Excellence Level.
Goal number Eight of the Millennium Development Goals is to ‘Develop a Global Partnership for Development’. This task sets out to explore what is meant by this, and what needs to be done to achieve this goal. Pupils will consider the individual targets to see what developments are intended to take place, and will seek information on the progress made toward these targets to date. The implications for the peoples in the developing world of not meeting these targets will be a significant part of the task. Pupils will demonstrate their learning at the end of the task by showing how they feel this Global partnership should be developed.
